In the “The Time Traveler’s Wife”, if I can be a time traveler, I must be very upset. I did not know where I was next second. I would afraid to talk to other, because I may disappear when we were talking. I had to think of lots of excuse to explain why I just suddenly disappear. There was no choice but lied to others. If the time traveler was not optimistic enough, I guess he may choose to suicide. But if I can control the ability, it would be lots of fun. I could see how my friends and I look in the future. I could know the thing happened many years old. At first, I would feel interesting, but when i know when they will die, it would make me feel desponding, the truth may be blue. At that time, would I like Henry’s daughter still full of sensible, or I would be crazy? It was hard to image. This book is a love story, and I do not know is it a happy ending or not. If Henry did not die this family may full of happiness. Henry appear many years later and give her wife a hug, then he disappeared, gone forever. This was the thing he did many years old. I do not know when someone tell me in the future I was already dead, what will I do. If a person know when will he die what is his mind? Would he shut himself in the home to prevent any danger happening? I have no idea. I thought maybe I would try my best to spend time with the people I care. Maybe I would let one of them know that then this person can tell my family what was going on with me after I dead. But actually it is hard to imagine it. Like Henry’s wife believe him, found a person who can always trust i is very important. That must be lots of pressure if I want to fix this problem by myself. If I could not find a person like that it was easy to give up. When I travel time, i have to find a place which could make me feel safety. And the person who knows my secret could give me some cloths and give me a hand. If I was the Henry in the book, would I be able to remain clam like him? I hope so.
When I read this book I was always confused. This is a love story about a time traveler and his wife. It means in the book the character always travel to different time and place. And sometimes the Henry appears here is the Henry after 4 years later. And that little girl is his wife when she was a kid. I often had read a paragraph but still did not know where the Henry exactly comes from. Is he the Henry many years ago or later? And at first I am not sure about what was Henry’s ability means. I thought it is just travel time and that was cool. But later I knew I was wrong I realize that I made some mistakes about the meaning of the content in front. Also his wife cannot exactly know where the Henry she faces from.
The words in the book are not easy as well. Especially when he goes to find the doctor, what did they talking about there are some Professional terms I never see before. But luckily, I do not have to get the clear meaning of them. It is not influence to understand the whole story.
I am still work hard try to “work out” this book.
My aunt and her husband have been to Japan and my mum and dad they were already backed to Shanghai, so my cousins and I been to my grandpa’s house. He is not lived in Taipei he live in Danshui and it is near the sea. Many years ago my grandpa is work at the sea so he wanted to bring us to there. He told us that we have to wake up early and then when we go to the beach there will be no one there, and we can play free without others. We got up at 7 o’clock. There is no dressing room there so we have changed the swimsuit at home. Go to the beach for swimming is not primarily, we want todabble so we bring the swimming ring and “floating plate”. I have been to the beach many times but generally there are lots of people so we just played on the beach or water rides. My cousin Ann and I can step on the sand underwater but Yuzo is too short. He is good at swimming at swimming pool but when we are in the sea he is afraid. And after that , Yuzo and I stung by jellyfish! Grandpa is supper stubborn, he did not believe us but both of us felt the sting and Yuzo and Ann saw the jellyfish. This made all of us felt afraid of the sea. We played in the sea for two hours, people gradually up, so we went home.
I did not eat supper tonight so I felt hungry before i went to bed. I found some chips and coke then try to find a
movie to watch. This reminds me my cousins had told me there an interesting
movie called “Pitch Perfect”. It is talk about a cappella—singing without instruments chorus. They use their own voice to make the music. The story happened in a college. There are four choirs like this in the school. The Barden Bellas is
one of them, its biggest rival is Treblemakers. They are really famous and always win. The Bellas is very traditional, the leader believe sing the same song is the only way to bring them the win. Beca cannot bear this. She don't know how to accept others kindness and this make Jesse and her relationship stiff. She and they have some dispute. But
in the end she rejoins and convince the leader of her. She becomes the new leader of their team and create a song is more modern and original. This song also is to apology to Jesse. In fact the audiences feel boring about the Bellas before but their new style makes everyone love them! They win! Beca and Jesse kiss in the end.
My favorite charter in the book “The
Time Traveler’s Wife” is not the main charter Henry, I like his daughter at
most, and her name is Alba. Because of the time travel is a kind of genetic disease, when Henry’s wife Clare was pregnant she 6 miscarriages. So they have their seventh kid they were so excited but they also worry about it. Alba is a time traveler as well. The thing they do not know is, their daughter is more “powerful” than her dad. She can control her ability. This means this girl can travel to anytime if she wants. And she tell her dad he will die when she is 5 years old. I like her because of her strong. She calmly teaches the younger Alba how to control her own ability, though she is just 10. I cannot find a charter that is my least favorite one. There are not a bad guy in this book Maybe i am a little bit hit Clare’s brother, because he accidentally shot Henry and make Henry die. But that is not his fault, this all is because time travel. This is how to let a person feel helpless.
We all need friends. They are the people
who we like and enjoy the time with them. We may have the same hobby, we may in
the same class. We need them so we should know how to make a new friend. At
first, you must do not know each other. But you may find some way to make new
friends. Today Ann’s friend (I am sorry I forget how to spell her name) in
school came to our house. I have not seen her before, so I was a little bit
excited. She came at 4 p.m. She had met Yuzo before but had no idea about me and
did not know I am here. We felt awkward and did not talk to each other. We
decided to make the biscuit. There were many makings at home so we thought it
may be easy. We all agree this suggestion and I knew this is the chance to talk
to her. For dessert together made we soon started talking. But making cookies is
not as easy as we thought. Because it was semi-finished products so we Fried
instead of baked. And we got some problem, It was no way to take shape. Some
parts cooked the other part is not. It was soft and seems like there was nothing
can fix it. So we simply forget it is cookies, start to do another thing –
brownie. In fact, we did not know how to make brownie just thought it looked a
bit like brownie. We determined that it probably had already cooked, then take
it out on the plate. We sat around the table and cut it into four average parts.
Even we cooked it by ourselves but I had to say it was really too difficult to
eat. We only added the eggs, milk and powder material, but I felt something
strange inside. This must be the worst “dessert” I had ever eaten. We complained
about the food, and then cannot stop laughing. It was taste bad but the process
is funny. We were enjoying it. We ate pizza for dinner. She was good at drawing
so she drew our face on the iPad. We played a fun game on iPad as well. Its name
is “Minion Rush”. This little guy was in the movie “Despicable Me” and they are
really cute. Both of us love Minions so this make our friendship be
closer.
We spent nearly whole together. We did the
same thing and this made us found the thing we both interested in. I thought it
is a good way to make a new friend. You do not need to worry about many things.
Just do what you both want to do and try to found the thing you both like, then
you will be friends. When you have lots of friends and spend time with the,,
you will know who is your best friend, maybe there not only
one.
It is my birthday today! Also I can back to Taipei today! I felt a
little bit excited and because I see a movie last night so I did not sleep very
well. My flight is in the afternoon. From Shanghai leave for Taipei only need 1
hour and 20 minutes, but I have some airsick. When I get here it is time for
dinner. So after Uncle Alan come to pick us up, we went to a restaurant
directly. I am excited when I saw my cousins. And I found Ann’s height. I am 165
cm and m Ann is 4 years younger than me, she is already as tall as me! When I
was 11 years old I was only maybe 150 cm. This let me some surprise. Yuzo gave
me a drawing, I have no idea why the whole drawing was only blue, but he told me
that was sea and sky. Anyway Ann give me a
leather bracelet she made by herself. Now I not just admire her
height. When I back home I wrote “I am back!” on facebook. Some of my friends
replied me. And I found my friends also said “Happy Birthday blablablabla…” to
me. This make me felt happy.
Because of my flight already change
to 17, I want to talk about Taipei which must be the place really important to
me. It is my hometown and all my paternal family members are live in Taipei. They are the reason
that why the place is the most important place to me. So I want to describe my family.
I am older than almost all my cousins. When I back to Taipei, I
always live in my Aunt Bonnie’s home. She got a daughter who named Ann is 11
years old and a son named Yuzo is 7 years old. Since they were born I play with
them until now. When I was not born my grandma and grandpa already separated.
They looked like friends more than couples. We were still family travel
together. But sadly, But it is sad that my grandma died a few years ago because
of breast cancer. I still remember the feeling I leave back for the funeral. I
think it is because of I do not live with my grandma so she loved me more than
my cousins.
But luckily, my grandpa is really health. I think he even stronger
than all of our family members including me. When he was young he was the
ship's chief engineer. (Actually I only knew the meaning of it in Chinese) He
has ever met the perils of the sea so he is good at swimming. Oh I have to say
he is really good at riding bicycle. He had ridden the bike across China and
around Taiwan. I have not inherited this, I do not know how to ride the
bicycle.
Now he is rented a piece of land in the mountains to grow some
vegetables. Of course it only provides for his family to eat. I love Taipei
another reason is there are natural places and big park for citizens to have
picnic or exercise. And the street is clean.
When I was a little girl I thought my Uncle Alan is scary.(He is
Aunt Bonnie and my daddy’s little brother) I have no idea why at that time he
gave me a hug but I couldn’t stop crying. This happened until he had a
girlfriend. It is a little bit amazing that when I talk to my cousins Rae I
think of the big sister at that time that she and her brother's
mommy.
Because I was very young so I only remember a few scene of their
wedding.
My grandma’s mum is still alive. She is already 94 years old but
still enjoys playing poker though she cannot read or write. She do not know
what the numbers’ meaning but she can use cellphone as well. And though my
grandpa and grandma has been separated but she treated my grandpa still very
good. That is why we always say she is a smart woman. My grandma had a big
family. My grandpa had it, too. But when he was very young his parents gave him
to others because they were poor at that time.
This place is really important to me, the people
who I really care live here.
Audrey Niffenegger is the author of “The Time
Traveler’s Wife”. I knew this book because of the movie of it. The main
character named Henry, he is a time traveler since he was six years old and he
cannot control this ability. It means he will disappear anytime and anywhere.
When he opens his eyes he may found himself in a strange place without clothes.
Through the title we can know this is a love story. He falls in love with a girl
like a real people. But this girl tell him she meet him many years ago. When she
was a little girl, he suddenly appeared in the grass for her to borrow the
picnic mat. They made a pact, she put her father's clothes in there, and he
would appear over time. Henry was not the memories about it. It means the
“Henry” she met before is older than the “Henry” she met now. So she told him he
has to find a doctor who may help him. The doctor as well as ordinary people,
first he completely didn't believe him. But Henry knew this may be his only
chance to treat himself. He tries his best to asking doctor to believe him. The
doctor examined his body and start research. Henry still travel time without
control and clothes, but now he know when he in a strange place who he can ask
for help.
