This photo is the thing happen in 1973. I thought at that time the most popular transportation is bicycle. People use bicycle to wet to work. My mum love Lijun Deng’s song because my grandparents. I have listened her as well it is wonderful. At that times there are not as so much fun as we have. So the way they can relax was listened music or saw the movie. There is a movie star named Bruce Lee, he was really good at Kong Fu and he had act many movie about the Kong Fu. But sadly he died in 1973. That year my dad was only a child and my mum just born. The fashion in 1973 was hard to understand. When we saw their picture now we thought they were retro.
The food in that year is not enough so government gave citizens a kind of thing called” food stamps”. They can use this to switch the food and oil and anything they need. But it is quota so at that time many people can’t make their children eat satisfied. Especially when teenagers start growing. The TV in that years were big and heavy and only have several TV program in the certain time. Actually not only television but also all the other machine were big and heavy and the function is not complete as well.
Today we went to the gerocomium to visit the old people. It is a project to learn the old people’s life story and experience. We need to prepare a gift but none of the people in our group remember it. But luckily there is a “four treasures of the study” in Ann’s locker. So we got the gift to the old people at last. The people who we vist is a 88 year old lady and 95 years old lady. The younger grandma is a primary school teacher when she was young. She told us at that time no one want to be a primary school teacher because there are lots of work need to do but only a little income. These two old ladies both have a good and perfect family, this make them though live in the gerocomium but still felt comfortable and satisfy. I thought the old people are all easy to satisfy, you just need to chat with them or visit them, they would feel happy. They just need people to care of them. That’s what they want.
Actually, we did not prepare our question very well, we forget to ask most of them. Next time we should improve this part.
It is the last day for writing the blog in the summer holiday. And I have already back to Shanghai. My mum and day back here 2 weeks earlier. They would pick me up when I arrive the airport. Mum told me I would saw them after I take my baggage. But when I was came out of there, I cannot find them. My mobile phone shutdown because there was no money in the SIM. I never bought about this thing in the airport so I was worry about can I buy the prepaid phone card or not. But luckily, Hongqiao airport is really small and I found a woman was sitting behind a desk and there is a big paper stick on the table and said” Sell …Prepaid phone card…” I bought one and called my mum quickly, she told me they were on the elevated now and nearly saw the airport. The lunch during the passage was nausea I did not ate them but after fight I do not felt hungry so I did not want to have lunch. When I get home, I had a big hug with my dog, Latte. I miss it so much during I was in Taipei.
My cousins and I went our Grandpa’s house today, the flats he lives have the swimming pool, SPA , ping pong table, reading room… when we arrive there we change our swimwear and goggles. I am poor at swimming so actually I was not interested in it. So after 30 minutes, my Cousin Ann and I went to SPA. It is a really simple one. We stay in the “take steam room” for almost 15 minutes, then had a shower and change the cloth. We played there in order to an old woman scolded us. We ran out of there quickly and found a ping pang table. The resident of this flat can use a card to ask for the lady in the counter for the ping pang board. There was no air condition over that place so we felt hot quickly. We already took the shower so both of us did not want to continue playing. We return the ping pang board and then went to the reading room, the place have sofa and air condition. There were many magazines and books on the shelf. I chose a magazine about fashion and she chose a comic about adventure and treasure. After we finish reading my Grandpa called us, he told us he cook the supper for us and asked us hurry upstairs.
Walking is a good way to exercise. No one wanted to cook so we decide to go to a restaurant for supper today. We can take a taxi to there or walk to there either. 3 of us choose to walk and 2 of us disagree because of the temperature. Anyway we start walking. Although it was not the afternoon but it was really hot outside. To get the restaurant we must though a park called” Daan Forest Park”. When I was a kid I always went to this park for swing and slippery ladder or have picnic. But since I grow up I have been to this park many years. And I only remember the grass that we had the picnic before. There were not many people in the park, after all the outside is very hot. But still some boys were playing the basketball over there. In this weather they must shed a lots of sweat. We did not stop for watching them so I did not know how the paly of them going on. We saw some people was taking their dog for a walk. Some of the dogs out his tongue others was drinking. Their master also was sweaty. And some of them simply sat down and let the puppy circling around them. There were also some middle aged women were chatting. They laugh and laugh. I was curious but I did not stop to listening. We keep walking, suddenly my little Cousin Rae ran fast and hide behind a tree and said:” do you know where I am? Can you catch me?” my Cousin Yuzo was excited and ran much faster than Rae and said:” I know where you are!” They chased among the trees and soon stopped because they were already sweating. Both of them ask for water but there is no shop in the park so we speed on get out of the park and found a 7-11. Aunt did not allow them to drink to much water because this two little guys always eat just a little during dinner. When we cross the road there is a bus station and full of students. I did not know which school were they but they may in the same school because of the same uniform. The school in Shanghai always do not allow student dress hair but the school in Taipei do not care unless some very severe school.(They even provides socks, shoes and bags) And beside the bus station is the restaurant. We finish this long walk.
When Henry travel time and his daughter told him he will die when she was five, what the mind of him? He did not tell her wife and choose to think some way to comfort her many years later. What he do is one time he travel to many years later he dead, he went to found her, and told her do not be sad, he will always be with them. It is the thing Henry do. And when his daughter was fie once he time travel to a very cold place without any cloth, this make he lose his legs and it means when he travel time again he can not run away. He dead because gun. If I knew the day I would die, I thought I would do everything I wanted to do but haven’t. I would meet all of my friends even I have communicated with some of them many years. I would not tell anyone, but maybe I would start to write a diary. Keep this secret was not an easy work so I need to talk to others, but I did not want them worries about me and maybe they did not believe it, so diary is a good way.
We went to that building as well, but Isabella did not come with us. This time teacher asked what we wanted to do. We thought for a long time, than deicide to learn how to use sewing machine to make a bag. Actually I used to think using sewing machine must be very easy because we just need to move the cloth material. But I knew I was wrong today. It is hard to control. If the line has become bent that basically no way to repair it unless re-do. We had to draw the length of the bag on a big cloth material. It was easy to draw the bent line when the size was big. When we finish drawing, teacher look at our cloth material 5 second, then he draw it again, and he finished we found the graph he draw has lots of different with ours, but we used the same length, it means the lines of our graph almost are all askew. After we cut it off we start sewing. We used some cloth material that we did not need for practice. Slowly we became more proficient and made the bag quickly.
Yesterday my Aunt Bonnie’s friend in high school’s daughter came to our house, her name is Isabella. She lived in the U.S and was learning Chinese now. Today my Cousin Ann, her and I went a building to have a class. It is about Manual. The teacher began the class as soon as we went there, because everyone is not the same interest so we do the different things. Ann and I choose the cowhide, the purse. First, teacher gave us a template and asked us to draw it on the leather, than we cut it down. It was not very easy to cut leather. Than we choose the color, it is a special dye that can tint on the leather. The color was not bright, I choose two of them, blue and purple. Now it was time to dye it, teacher gave us some cotton pads, we used it to stick the dye and forced to rub on the leather. After that we rubbed a kind of thing that can make the leather look brighter. (I only the Chinese name of it). At that time, teacher gave some pretty serviette, he asked us to choose our favorite pattern and cut it down with the shape we like, and use another thing to stick on the leather. Finally, nail punch buttons. Completion!
